Flashlight:
I have often heard it said that in the UK, which has a tradition of being a bit wet for most of the year, that people will carry an umbrella when there is a 30% chance of rain, but very few people carry a flashlight on their person daily, when there is a 100% chance of darkness!! Why is this? I have no idea. I use my flashlight a couple of times a day to look in various dark places, under furniture, inside a black bag, at night in my garden, walking back from the rub-a-dub-dub! Loads of uses for it!
I have two because...well...basically I ordered a Fenix E11 from the USA to be delivered to my hotel while I was travelling out there in July, and then a mate of mine came up with another model for me to test, the Klarus NT10, that I found also suited my needs much more for out in the woods, so I bought that as well! Having used both lights I can honestly say that the minor shortfalls in each light are made up by positive points in the other light, so having two is working for me! For example, the E11 has two modes, but the low mode is actually a bit bright for the woods I have found, whereas the NT10 low mode is really a LOW mode and allows a semblance of night vision to be retained. The E11 does not have an SOS mode or strobe, both of which I would hope I would never have to use, but if I did need them, they are there. The E11 also now has a clip that I modified onto the light to make it more pocket carry friendly, whereas the NT10 does not have this capability, so when I want it out of the way and not weighing down my trousers displaying pocket bulge, I use the E11. When I want a light on my belt, held in a pouch, the NT10 comes in again as the E11 does not come with a belt pouch.
